Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TUCKR89 LLC handles information in CoolDown Driving Assistant ("CoolDown"). It is written to reflect the current V1 implementation. CoolDown is designed as a local-first driving assistant and does not operate a CoolDown cloud account or analytics backend.

1. Information CoolDown uses

Foreground location and GPS information

When you manually start a drive and grant location permission, CoolDown uses foreground device location data to determine current speed, GPS quality, trip distance, average speed, maximum speed, and supported driving events. The Android app requests foreground fine and coarse location permissions. It does not request background location in the current release.

CoolDown does not store a route map or a history of raw latitude/longitude coordinates in its trip records. Location samples are used while the drive is active to calculate supported trip metrics and event information.

Driving events and trip metrics

CoolDown may create local records for supported events such as sustained-speed reminders, basic GPS-derived hard-braking estimates, and Calm Mode event activity. Hard-braking detection is a basic estimate derived from GPS speed changes and should not be treated as a calibrated vehicle-safety measurement.

Preferences and optional driver name

Settings such as units, coaching preferences, thresholds, themes, voice-related preferences, and an optional driver name are stored locally using app preferences. The driver name is used for personalization and is not sent to a CoolDown server.

2. Local storage

Trip summaries and event records are stored in a local SQLite database. App settings and certain entitlement-status information are stored locally in app preferences. CoolDown does not provide a CoolDown cloud-sync service in V1.

3. Google Play subscriptions and payment information

On Android, premium access is handled through Google Play Billing. Google Play may process purchase, account, device, and payment information under Google's own terms and privacy practices. CoolDown does not receive or store your payment-card number.

The app receives subscription purchase/status information from Google Play so it can determine whether premium access is active. V1 may store the time of the last successful positive Google Play ownership check locally to support a limited offline entitlement window. No CoolDown server receives or validates purchase receipts in V1.

Subscription price, currency, billing period, and eligible trial terms are supplied by Google Play rather than hard-coded into the app's purchase display.

4. Text-to-speech

CoolDown uses the text-to-speech engine installed or selected on your device to speak driving reminders. CoolDown does not use a CoolDown cloud text-to-speech service. Some device-selected TTS engines may use online services according to their own settings and privacy policies. CoolDown's voice-readiness feature attempts to identify when a suitable local/offline voice is available, but device capabilities vary.

5. Android system backup

Android may back up app databases or preferences depending on your device, Google account, operating-system settings, and the app's platform backup configuration. Such backup is an Android/Google platform function; it is not an upload to a CoolDown-owned server. You can manage backup settings through your Android or Google account settings.

6. What CoolDown does not include in V1

• No CoolDown advertising SDK.
• No CoolDown analytics SDK.
• No CoolDown account or login system.
• No CoolDown cloud backend for trip/location storage.
• No sale of personal information by CoolDown.
• No background location permission in the current Android release.
• No camera, microphone, contacts, phone/SMS, or media/storage permission for core V1 functionality.

7. Data retention and deletion

Local trip history and settings remain on the device until they are removed by app behavior or by Android. The current V1 does not provide a single in-app "delete all data" control. Clearing CoolDown's app storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app removes the app's local data from that installation. Platform backups, if present, may need to be managed separately through Android/Google account settings.

You can change or clear the optional driver-name preference through the app's settings behavior. Subscription cancellation is managed through Google Play and is not performed by uninstalling CoolDown.

8. Website information

This website is designed without advertising or analytics scripts. If you contact support by email, the information you voluntarily provide will be used to respond to your request and retained only as reasonably needed for support, recordkeeping, security, or legal obligations.

9. Children's privacy

CoolDown is designed as a driving utility for people operating motor vehicles. It is not directed to children. Store age ratings and target-audience disclosures should be configured to match the final distribution and applicable law.

10. Security

CoolDown limits its own data handling by keeping V1 trip information local and avoiding a CoolDown account/backend. No software or storage method can guarantee absolute security. Device security, operating-system protections, backups, and third-party platform services also affect data protection.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when app functionality, platform requirements, or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when the policy changes materially.

Platform disclosure note

Google Play requires app privacy and Data Safety disclosures to match actual app and SDK behavior. Apple requires a public privacy-policy URL and App Privacy disclosures in App Store Connect for an iOS release. Store-console answers must be reviewed again whenever the app's code, SDKs, permissions, billing, analytics, advertising, or data flows change.
